As I write, we are freshly back from this year’s Elim Leaders’ Summit. We experienced top quality worship and ministry. The main themes were packed around the 5-fold ministry graces – Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Shepherd and Teacher. There were some outstanding sessions, and I will be encouraging our life-group leaders to share them with you all over the next couple of months. Mark Pugh’s exhortation not to camp on the edge of the promise is a must listen for all of us, especially leaders! Al Gordon’s call to us to prepare the way for an awakening was a powerful and timely reminder that God has already begun doing something in this generation – as I said last month – “It also feels like we are standing on the verge of a fresh wave of the Spirit amongst us as God fans into flame prophetic voices and creative people. I want to encourage you to come prepared on Sundays – could it be that God wants to speak through you? Pray for our gatherings that they would be spiritual powerhouses for the kingdom of God.”
As Al Gordon said – ‘You can’t wait for the wave to arrive before you start paddling’.

Whilst we unpack this together in our meetings and life groups, during June we also have some terrific speakers coming - we will welcome Simon Padley on June 14th – he’s an elite sports coach, a teacher, and a great leader. On the 21st, Father’s Day, we welcome back David & Greta Peters to minister to us. Finally on June 28th we have the special event – Praise in the Park no service at Gateway since we will all be down in the park celebrating together. I’ll be leading the worship team for that – drawn from many of the churches in Yate.

In the midst of all this Becky and the team will be running Alpha on Wednesday nights. This is so exciting and I encourage all of you to be praying that many who come would encounter Jesus. Please note though, that in order to create physical space for Alpha to run, and also to make sure no-one is overburdened, we will not be running Above & Beyond for June, July or August – but we eagerly anticipate its return in September.
