To the Gateway family
A few weeks back we shared a prophetic insight where we felt strongly that God had been reminding us that we were in a new season. I am conscious that as one season starts, another ends. We give thanks to God for those who have faithfully served in His kingdom in this past season, and we look forward to the fresh shoots rising up as God brings His Spring into our Winter. Let’s show our love and compassion for one another with all kindness and necessary support in this seasonal shift. I trust that you know that you are loved by God and He will always be there for you.
April’s diary has some big moments in it. The first weekend of April is Good Friday and Easter Sunday. On Good Friday we will join with the other churches of Yate and Chipping Sodbury for a walk of witness from outside Chipping Sodbury Baptist Church (at 11am) all the way down to Yate Town centre where we will have a service together at which I will be speaking. I’d really value your support (physically and in prayer) for this event – whatever the weather J. On Easter Sunday we will gather as usual for our Easter celebration and don’t forget Easter is always a great time to invite friends to Church. During April we welcome Geoff Feasey back to minister, and later in the month Alistair Taylor, someone who has been involved in church planting and training leaders for much of his ministry. We also welcome back David & Greta Peters who will be around until July but ministering for us at Word & Prayer on 30th April.
In the middle of all of this we welcome Olly Goldenberg among us on Sat 18th April and Sun 19th April as we re-energise our Children’s ministry with our Kids Collective conference. (10am to 3pm on Sat 18th – Lunch provided). We will restart our Children’s ministry on 26th April after a few weeks of break over Easter.
We are also pleased to let you all know that there will be a Baptismal service coming up but we have amended the date to 24th May. If you have not yet been baptised but wish to be then please contact myself, or one of the Elders, and we can arrange to take you through a baptismal class and add you to those already wanting baptism.
