To the Gateway family
I have been greatly blessed this year to see how many of you are connecting with Life Groups. So many of you have come to realise that Life Groups aren’t the optional extra but are a core part of being a believer in 21st Century Britain. I shall be meeting with all the Life Group leaders on 1st March after morning church because they have been giving out and it’s time to give back to them. And of course, life groups week is the first week of March when we will once again be tackling James, this time moving on to chapter 3.
One of the most jaw dropping statistics across church ministry is that a massive 86% of people come to faith in Jesus before they are 25 years old. Our children’s and Youth ministries are so important and what we do with these young lives helps to shape their eternity. This is a hugely fertile ground for the gospel, and you can get involved. There are two things you can do. First, talk to Liz and let her know you want to get involved. Second, sign up for our children’s leaders conference with Olly Goldenberg on Saturday 18th April from 10am to 3pm (Lunch will be provided) – a must for all children’s workers, leaders and parents.
We are also pleased to let you all know that there will be a Baptismal service on 17th May. If you have not yet been baptised but wish to be then please contact myself, or one of the Elders, and we can arrange to take you through a baptismal class and then add you in to those already wanting baptism. This is an early heads-up.
As I look at the diary for March, it will be great to welcome my friends Gareth Lewis and Peter Read to minister among us. Gareth and Janet who are a part of Gloucester Elim Church’s team and who run One Touch Ministries will be with us on 8th March. Pete Read recently retired from being Vice Principal of Regent’s Theological College and he and Jill will be with us on 22nd March. We welcome them amongst us and take note of what God is saying and stirring as they minister here at Gateway.
In the meantime, pray for us as we continue to pray for you.
Much love
Pastor Dave & Liz
